This initiative uses proven methods to reduce the role of big money in politics by limiting the amount that each individual can contribute to candidates. By preventing a single person from bank-rolling a particular candidate, we reduce the appearance and reality of corruption and favors in politics. If this measure is as popular as it was for Multnomah County in 2016 (with 89% of the vote), more people will have a fair chance at running for office.
