We got Honest Elections on the Ballot!
Updated: Sep 18, 2018
After 3 months and dozens of volunteer signature gathering, we collected over 50,000 signatures to qualify this issue for the Nov. 2018 ballot.
This initiative uses proven methods to reduce the role of big money in politics by limiting the amount that each individual can contribute to candidates. By preventing a single person from bank-rolling a particular candidate, we reduce the appearance and reality of corruption and favors in politics. If this measure is as popular as it was for Multnomah County in 2016 (with 89% of the vote), more people will have a fair chance at running for office.
